Brake Light Out?

89' Toyota Celica GT convertable. Passenger side brakelight. ONe bulb works the other has an issue. It doesnt work most of the time, or shows very very faintly. With brake depressed, if you jiggle the bulb a lil and get a good spot, it works fine, as soon as it moves it goes back to very dim. How to fix this, what is the problem?I'm assuming the wires going into it, or the assembly whathaveyou. Also its an old car so a bitt of water gets in that area when it rains heavy. Any help appreciated, yes I changed the bulbs first. Thanks all.Brake Light Out?the bulbs in some imports (at least the ones that i have seen) like to get so hot that the contacts on the bulb like to melt and damage the contact area. you might have a contact problem in the light socket itself.Brake Light Out?The bulb uses lead contacts to complete the circuit and lead is prone to corrode quite easily. Buffing the contacts on a old piece of cloth and applying a small dab of dielectric grease will help make a better contact.Brake Light Out?Try some dielectric lube on the bulb threads, assuming the problem is at the bulb connection.Brake Light Out?The circuit boards that the lights mount to are known for the grounds going bad, especially if the ground wires are screwed together by a screw that goes into plastic.
